THE Hillfoots Vixens put on a strong performance against the Caledonian Thebans on Sunday afternoon.

Unfortunately, the Vixens couldn’t get the win they wanted, falling to a 15-41 defeat to the visitors, but were able to take plenty of positives from their performance.

The Vixens welcome the Thebans to the Hillfoots and also took the opportunity to show off their new home kit as well.

A decent crowd turned up to the game/kit launch, including some of the sponsors – Appicab, Your Equipment Solutions, Golden Tree Estates, Allanwater Homes, Hamall Process Instruments, Chris Quigly Tattoo and Allan’s Glass and Glazing.

Christina Swinton, head Vixen for the club, spoke after the match, praising the Vixens for their continued improvement despite being such a new club.

She said: “The final score from the game was 15-41, with the Thebans taking the win.

“However, the improvement in how the Vixens played was incredible and there has been a lot of positive feedback from our support on the level of rugby the ladies are playing at after such a short time.

“Finally, we are thrilled to now be able to offer training to Junior Vixens, girls aged 12+, with dedicated coaches.

“The juniors train at the same time as the women – Thursdays 7pm-11pm at Alva Academy and Sundays 10am-11am at Hillfoots Rugby Club.

“If anyone would like to join either of the teams, they can contact us via Facebook or Instagram.”
