A 40-year-old serial shoplifter from Sauchie, who attacked two store workers, has been jailed.

Michelle McShane hit two female employees at Farmfoods, trying to bite one of them.

McShane, of Hallpark, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court by video-link from prison to be sentenced for a long list of thefts from local stores, which she had previously admitted.

The thefts took place between July 20 last year and February 8 this year.

The shops targeted by McShane during that period were Aldi, Tesco, Asda, Poundland, Farmfoods, Morrisons and Iceland, all in Alloa.

She stole groceries, confectionery, clothing, household goods, toiletries, cleaning products, gift bags, laundry items and candles.

On November 21, she breached bail conditions by entering the premises of Tesco, Alloa.

And on February 8, at Poundland, Alloa, she assaulted a female employee by striking her on the body, grabbing her clothes and pushing her. She also assaulted another female employee by striking her on the body and trying to bite her.

At Hallpark, Sauchie, on August 22, last year, she stole a mobile phone, and two days later at another address in Hallpark, she stole money.

Sheriff Neil Bowie jailed McShane for 274 days. Sentence was deferred on some of the cases until June 27.
