PEOPLE are being urged to ensure they have an adequate supply of prescription medicine for the Easter weekend as part of an NHS awareness campaign.

NHS Forth Valley is urging people to get the right care in the right place as demand is expected to be very high across care services.

This includes checking whether there is an adequate supply of prescription medicine as GP practices will be closed for two days on Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1.

However, a number of pharmacists will be open during the Easter holidays, including on Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Monday.

In Alloa on Friday, March 29, Alloa Pharmacy at Marshill will be open from 8.30am to 6pm. Boots on the High Street will also be open from 9am to 5.30pm, and Well, also High Street, will the same hours.

In Clackmannan, Davidsons Chemists will be open from 9am to 5.45pm.

Alva residents can visit Holm Pharm on Stirling Street from 9am to 1pm and from 2.15pm to 5.45pm. Holm Pharm on Johnstone Street will be open from 9am to 5.30pm, and down the road in Menstrie, Holm Pharm will be open from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Sauchie's Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy will operate from 9am to 6pm.

Right Medicine Pharmacy in Dollar will welcome patients from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm.

The Central Pharmacy and Tullibody's Tron Court will be open from 9am to 6pm while Boots will open from 9am to 5.45pm as well.

Tillicoultry residents can head to Well on High Street from 9am to 5.45pm.

Pharmacists will be able to provide healthcare advice and treatment for many common health conditions under the Pharmacy First scheme.

These include urine infections, conjunctivitis, skin conditions and infections as well as thrush.

There will be fewer pharmacies open on Monday, April 1.

Lindsay & Gilmour in Sauchie will open from 9am to 6pm, while the Central Pharmacy at Tron Court, Tullibody, will be open during the same hours.

It can treat adults and children over the age of one for cuts and grazes, minor burns, sprains and strains as well as minor eye and ear injuries while arranging X-rays and more.
