What is a Humanist Ceremony?

Humanist ceremonies are all about the people involved.

When we have lost someone, we need to set aside a time and space to say our goodbyes. A Humanist funeral ceremony, led by Beverley Bryant, is exclusively dedicated to the person who has died; remembering their life, their character, and the way in which their life touched others.

This is achieved by carefully gathering information and anecdotes. The best tributes come from spending time with a family, in person, gently encouraging their memories.

During a Humanist funeral ceremony, you can expect to smile as you remember someone who has meant something to you. There will be tears, but there is also space for laughter.

Rather than traditional hymns and prayers, you are likely to hear music that person loved and poems relating closely to their life.

Although non-religious, a Humanist ceremony can be very moving and poignant. Above all, it is the Celebration of a Life.
