FIGHTERS from Alloa Boxing Club were in action earlier this month at a Forth Valley event.

Two boxers were representing the club at the Falkirk Phoenix Show at Falkirk high school on Saturday, June 11.

First up was middleweight Graeme Beveridge against Radim Kasny from Cathedral Boxing Club.

This fight did not disappoint in a toe-to-toe bout from the first bell.

Graeme found his range from the start using his jab to find the distance and landing backhands to hurt his game opponent at the end of round one with only the bell saving him.

Round 2 saw Radim come out trying to be the aggressor but Graeme used his good foot work to make his opponent miss and lovely counter shots.

Round three saw both boys go for it from the first bell until the last that had the crowd up on their feet.

After three hard rounds of boxing Graeme was announced the winner by MG Craig Stephen in a decision that had the travelling fans roaring in delight.

Next up was Luca Allison against Harris Draccup from Leith Victoria.

Luca started the first round by brilliantly landing head and body combinations to take the first.

Harris started the second round on the front foot with both boys landing some heavy leather with Harris just edging it.

Round 3 was much the same both boys showing great boxing ability; unfortunately, after three brilliant rounds of boxing Harris was announced the winner.

At the end of the show, Luca and Harris’ fight was announced as fight of the night.

Coach John Whyte said he is extremely proud of both boys with Graeme, who is 40 years old, showing age is just a number if you take care of your body and train hard.

He added Luca, at only 19 and boxing for a little more than a year, is one of the most promising young fighters he seen at the club in a long time.
