A YOUNG drug dealer has been left lighter in the pocket after being snared by police.
On Thursday at Alloa Sheriff Court, Thomas Strachan admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis at the A91 Hillfoots car park and his home address on January 29 this year.
Fiscal depute Ruairidh Ferguson told the court that coppers caught the 22-year-old with herbal cannabis and cannabis resin whilst sitting in a vehicle in the Blairlogie car park at around 11pm.
Mr Ferguson claimed the herbal cannabis was worth £153, whilst the resin had a potential street value of £1,350.
In defence it was claimed that Strachan, of Hillview Terrace in Alloa, was trying hard to wean himself off the drug for his “work, life and partner”.
Sheriff David Griffiths warned the accused: “Mr Strachan, drug dealing is something that sooner or later will lead to custody.”
Sheriff Griffiths sentenced Strachan to a CPO with supervision for 12 months and 135 hours of unpaid work to be complete within six months.
He also granted the Crown’s Confiscation Order for £1,530.
