A KINCARDINE youngster is in the running for Youth Football Scotland's goal of the season tournament.
Ryan McCarthy, 16, crashed home a thunderous 35-yarder while playing for Milton FC 2000s earlier this year.
The strike now features as one of ten entries on the shortlist for the Jamie Skinner Goal of the Season final.
Voting ends on September 1 to coincide with Youth Football Scotland's award ceremony in Edinburgh.
Ryan's mum Ann told the Advertiser: "He was absolutely delighted with the nomination, football is his life.
"He's very humbled to have been chosen but he definitely deserves it."
Milton 2000s completed a famous treble last season, winning two cups and their league.
