AN ALLOA woman is taking fundraising to extreme heights in a bid to raise money for an animal shelter.

Rebecca Starkie will launch herself out of a plane next month in a charity sky dive for the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, based in London.

The 23-year-old is a devoted pet owner and is determined to help provide "forever homes" to all kinds of animals.

And with almost three quarters of her target raised already, Rebecca hasn't ruled out further fundraisers in the future.

She told the Advertiser: "I’m doing the jump because it’s something I have always wanted to do [but]...especially as I’m raising money for such a good cause.

"I picked Battersea Dogs & Cats Home as I love all animals, especially cats and dogs. Every animal deserves a chance at life so I thought I would do something to try help them out as much as I can.

"I have two cats that mean the world to me and have a forever home. I couldn’t imagine what it must be like for the cats and dogs [without one].
"So it’s not just about raising money, it’s about raising awareness to try get the fur babies forever homes."

Rebecca, proud owner of Daisy and Lola, will be taking to the sky in a tandem dive on September 17.

And though she only set up her crowdfunding page earlier this month, she is already at more than 70 per cent of her initial target.

She added: "This is the first time I have ever done anything like this and I’m nervous but it will be worth it.

"I’m looking to raise £500 and I have a Just Giving page. I have raised £360 already in less than a month.

"I will keep going even after the jump to try raise as much money as I can. I would definitely be up for doing different types of fundraisers, seeing as this one has been a big success."
